BBB Foundation Recognizes Colorado Glass and Mirror for Helping an Elderly Homeowner in Northglenn
Some jobs are about clean lines, tight reveals, and a perfect swing on a shower door. And some jobs are about doing the right thing when someone needs help.
Colorado Glass and Mirror recently received a letter from the BBB Business and Consumer Foundation thanking our team for donating in-kind services and materials through the BBB Foundation Restoring Trust program. The project supported an elderly homeowner in Northglenn who had been taken advantage of by a fraudulent contractor. Our crew stepped in to help restore safety, comfort, and confidence in her home.
What We Installed at No Cost
For this Restoring Trust project, Colorado Glass and Mirror donated the labor and materials to complete key bathroom safety upgrades, including:
- A new shower door was installed properly and safely
- A handicap safety railing to improve stability and reduce fall risk
- Professional workmanship from a team that treats the home with respect
When a homeowner is already dealing with stress, financial loss, and uncertainty, the last thing they need is more delays or more runaround. Our goal was simple. Show up. Do the work right. Leave the space safer than we found it.
Why This Matters in Colorado
Unfortunately, stories like this are not rare. Elderly homeowners are often targeted because they are more likely to trust someone who sounds confident and less likely to want confrontation when something feels off. Add in the urgency of home repair, and you get the perfect storm for bad actors to take advantage of.
The BBB Foundation Restoring Trust program exists to help turn those situations around by connecting ethical, reputable businesses with homeowners who need legitimate repairs after a scam or fraud.
We were honored to be part of that effort.
Bathroom Safety Is Not a Luxury
A shower should be a place to reset and relax, not a place where someone worries about slipping or struggling to get in and out safely. For seniors, bathroom safety upgrades can be the difference between staying independent at home and needing outside assistance.
If you have an older parent, grandparent, or loved one living in the Denver metro area, here are a few signs it might be time to improve shower safety:
- They hold onto towel bars, glass, or the wall for balance
- They avoid showering because it feels difficult or risky
- They have had a close call, a slip, or a fall in the bathroom
- They have limited mobility due to arthritis, injury, or surgery
- Their current shower setup is cramped, outdated, or hard to enter
A properly installed shower door and a correctly placed safety rail can create a more stable, comfortable routine without needing a full remodel.
Our Standard Is Simple: Do It Right or Do Not Do It
In glass installation, details matter. Measurements matter. Anchoring matters. Hardware matters. Safety matters.
But trust matters too.
That is why we take pride in being a company that homeowners can verify, review, and feel confident hiring. If you want to check our BBB profile and business details, you can view it here and we encourage you to do so before hiring any contractor.

How to Protect Yourself or a Loved One From Contractor Scams
If you are hiring a contractor for shower glass, railings, windows, mirrors, or any home service, here are a few practical ways to reduce risk:
- Verify the company is real
Look them up. Check reviews. Confirm their address and business information match across platforms. - Ask for a written scope of work
You should know exactly what is being installed, what materials are included, and what the timeline is. - Avoid vague pricing or pressure tactics
If someone is rushing you, changing details verbally, or pushing cash only, pause. - Do not pay everything up front
A deposit is normal. Paying the full amount before work starts is a red flag. - Choose established local teams
A company that relies on community reputation cannot afford to cut corners.
